About Kevin
O’Doherty
Based in London, I have worked for 10 years in the fields of Mental Health, Youth Offending and Homelessness. I am also a qualified Psychology and Health and Social Care Lecturer. I have been developing and delivering Personal Development Workshops, to the general public and staff within
organisations, both in the UK and Ireland for a number of years. In addition to my private CBT practice, I also work with the
Anxiety UK, and more recently MIND (The National Charity providing
a range of services for people experiencing severe and enduring
mental health difficulties).
I am a member of the British Association of Behavioural and
Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and adhere to the professional
code of practice laid down by them. I am also an affiliated
member of the British Psychological Society.
I trained for the Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Goldsmiths University of London, under the tutelage of Professor Windy Dryden, renowned author, psychotherapist and international academic.
I provide CBT via traditional face to face
consultations, telephone and Web-Cam link up. Telephone and
Web-Cam based CBT, is becoming increasingly popular for those who
cannot travel to sessions, due to physical or psychological
difficulties, or because they live outside of London, and in some
cases outside of the United Kingdom.
My main academic qualifications are:
· BSc Psychology Degree
· Post Graduate Diploma in Health Psychology
· Post Graduate Certificate in Further and Higher Education
· Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

In terms of the CBT related workshops I provide,
My style is very relaxed, fun and friendly ...
(I know from personal experience that these are vital ingredients for personal growth and learning). I very much value the contribution that people make to the workshops that they join. I have great confidence in the wealth of experience and wisdom within people, and see myself as being on a journey of learning and discovery like everyone. Whether working with people in group settings or on a one to one basis, I always view myself as a facilitator of personal growth and development, rather than the “expert”
imparting advice and guidance.
